Join us at Ecuador Foil as we welcome guest coaches Julia Castro (@fuertejulia) and Rebecca Hart (@rebecca___hart) to our tropical, foil paradise Montañita, Ecuador in May 2027 for an unforgettable retreat experience. It will be a week filled with prone, tow foil, foil drive, and tow boogie in Montañita's pristine, warm water reefs. We can't wait to showcase our world class foil waves, stunning beaches and lush jungles to all attendees.

Non stop flights from Miami, New York, Atlanta and Panama, Madrid, Lima, Santiago to GYE

Recommend Copa and American that have great flights with short layovers especially Copa through Panama

No Visas required stamp in but check your Yellow Fever requirements if you are from Brazil, Costa Rica or other tropical Locations

We can also pick up in GYE or Manta 2 hours away, Quito is 11 hours from the coast or 45 min flight to GYE or Manta

Robert Ross moved to Montanita, Ecuador in 2011 from Los Angeles, California looking for a simpler life. In Los Angeles, while Robert was in the Financial Services industry, he used every vacation to travel extensively around the world looking warm water, incredible surf and a relaxed lifestyle. Robert eventually stumbled onto Montanita on a South American surf trip in 2005. After 12 years of searching and preparing, Robert decided that Montanita provided the perfect balance to start the next chapter of his life. Today, if he is not at the hotel, Robert is driving the coast in search of waves for foiling or wind for winging or spending time with his precious five children , Maddox (12) Naia (10) and Ceylon (4), Kenan and Kaiana (6 months, Twins) who were born in Ecuador.
After 15 years in Ecuador, Robert may have the best knowledge on the entire coast as a true waterman. Robert surfs, kites, wings, and these days spends most his time on Foil, prone, tow, foil drive and boogieing up and down the Ecuadorian coast. Robert's knowledge of the Ecuadorian coast is unrivaled and excited to share this tropical paradise with foilers from around the world.
