Robert Ross moved to Montanita, Ecuador in 2011 from Los Angeles, California looking for a simpler life.  In Los Angeles, while Robert  was in the Financial Services industry, he used every vacation to travel extensively around the world looking warm water, incredible surf and a relaxed lifestyle.  Robert eventually stumbled onto Montanita on a South American surf trip in 2005.  After 12 years of searching and preparing, Robert decided that Montanita provided the perfect balance to start the next chapter of his life. Today, if he is not at the hotel, Robert is driving the coast in search of waves for foiling or wind for winging or spending time with his precious five children , Maddox (12) Naia (10) and Ceylon (4), Kenan and Kaiana (6 months, Twins) who were born in Ecuador.

After 15 years in Ecuador, Robert may have the best knowledge on the entire coast as a true waterman.  Robert surfs, kites, wings, and these days spends most his time on Foil, prone, tow, foil drive and boogieing up and down the Ecuadorian coast.  Robert's knowledge of the Ecuadorian coast is unrivaled and excited to share this tropical paradise with foilers from around the world.

Paul Cooper is one of the pioneers in Prone foiling and surf foil aerials. Since Ecuador Foil first came across his YouTube videos  Foil in 2019, he has consistently amazed us with his prowess in connecting multiple waves and performing huge airs. As a dedicated Foil Drive team rider, Paul is a dedicated rider and teacher in Hawaii and around the world, cementing his status as one of the top foilers and foil coaches in the sport. 

Mizo is an OG of foiling, one of Fones's first team riders and one of the best Prone, Sup Foil, and Downwind professional foilers in the world.  We are excited to welcome Mizo to Ecuador and ready to soak up every piece of style and technique as we have the oportunity to foil with him everyday in Ecuador's beatiful foily reefs.
