Robert Ross the owner of Ecuador Foil arrived in Ecuador in 2013 and build The ME Hotel & Villas - Montanita Estates, www.montanitaestates.com @montanitaestates. The ME Hotel is located 2 hours from GYE and MEC on a mountain overlooking Ecuador's surf capital, Montañita Ecuador. Guests at the ME Hotel are just a short 2 minute walk from Montañita and tours include waves 2 hours in both directions, north and south. Below are a list of waves that a guided foil tour with Ecuador Foil may include:
- La Bahia - 20 minutes north protected cove and a reef that breaks 200-300 meters out. Peaks everywhere, protected from the wind and non - stop swell year round. Very tide sensitive and local knowledge is a must to find and foil this perfect wave
- Dos torres - an offshore reef that breaks year round, connect 4-5 waves easily on this perfect foil wave
- The beachy - a local beach break that never goes flat. We go here when there is nothing happening in the ocean as the beachy is always foily even if there is no surf
- La Punta - Perfect Trestles like point break that breaks on a flat rock/reef. 10 minute walk or 30 second drive from the ME Hotel. Works on all tides and both north and souths and is one of the best waves in South America. This is am crowded wave and can only be surfed by pros and local foilers or the locals may get restless
- The Foil Park - Another off shore reef that is everyones perfect place to learn. Easy entry and connections. The first wave foiled in Ecuador
- Mucha Hembra - Off shore reef we often tow and can be paddled as well
- Faro 2 - Sand Bottom point perfect foil point but very tide and swell specific.
- Faro Bahia - Perfect offshore reef for learning and connecting waves
- Playas - 2 hours south of Montañita sits on of the best set ups in all of South America. 13 back to back right point breaks that look like Malibu. These waves take a large south to work and when they are on all 13 waves connect for 2 a mile long wave and a 25 minute walk back to the point
