Base Camp Montañita

Montañita, Ecuador is on the southern coast of Ecuador, 2 hours from Ecuador's financial capital Guayaquil, airport code GYE or two hours south of Manta, small airport on the coast code MEC.  Ecuador is the last warm water destination before you hit the southern cold water currents of Peru.   In Montanita we surf in board shorts year round with water temps ranging from 75-82 degrees.  

Montañita is perfectly located on the coast of Ecuador to receive north and south swells.  Our primary season runs from December - May in North Season but have waves year round from June - November as well with souths.  South swells can bring trickier conditions with a bit more onshore flow and colder water

mobile southern coast 2 hours

There is a stretch of coast in southern Ecuador that stretches from Manta, Ecuador to Playas, Ecuador with endless reefs, points and soft beach breaks where you can surf a different empty world class foil wave every day of the week.  If you want to experience all of what Ecuador has to offer this is the tour for you.  Depending on the time of year we may base out of Montanita and drive up to two hours in each direction or we can base out of Santa Marianita 2 hours to the north of Montañita and depending on the swell direction, size and wind head north or south 2 hours.
